The COO of a company in Watertown has invented a way to possibly extinguish e-bike fires after a slew of e-bikes have caught fire recently.
Rodger Mort has asked customers to send back recyclable or defective e-bike batteries with Thermo Shield to prevent fires.
Packing and Crating Technology will send customers a kit with fire-suppressant packing wrap called Thermo Shield so they can safely transport, store and recycle the lithium–ion batteries.
Mort says he is also working with the Thermo Shield manufacturers to stop e-bikes from catching fire.
