State police and Stratford police are teaming up to search for a suspect who threw a rock off an overpass Monday night.

Cops say the individual threw a rock from the James Farm Road Overpass near exit 53 on the Merritt Parkway. The rock struck the car of a Branford woman, who is now recovering at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Police say they are beefing up patrols and hope the suspect will return to the scene of the crime.
