Norwalk welcomes herd of people for city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade
Hundreds of people flocked to Norwalk for the city's fourth annual St. Patrick's Day parade.
The festivities were hosted by the Norwalk Police Emerald Society and included Irish dancers, local bands and organizations.
Mayor Harry Rilling says the parade celebrates the city as a whole.
"Norwalk is such a diverse community," Rilling said. "We have people from all over the world finding their routes here, settling here and it's just a celebration of who we are and our diversity."
The fire department, police department and Norwalk EMS were also in the paraded with antique cars and other community groups.
Organizers of the event say it continues to grow in popularity every year and it also gets longer as more groups join.
