As federal health officials confirm a second Dallas hospital employee has been diagnosed with Ebola, hospitals in Connecticut say they are operating with precaution.
Officials say the nurse contracted Ebola after treating the Liberian man who eventually died from the disease last week. The woman developed an elevated fever yesterday and is being transferred to a hospital in Atlanta for treatment. Before developing the fever, officials say she took a flight to Ohio Monday, prompting crews to disinfect the plane and contact all 132 people who were on board.
At St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, doctors say they are operating with a high level of safety and precaution. Everyone who enters the hospital is screened to make sure they are not at risk for having contracted Ebola. The staff is also undergoing training to make sure they know how to handle Ebola patients and use specialized equipment.
Doctors say people should not panic and the best thing they can do is educate themselves about Ebola.
