A new law will take effect in Connecticut Sunday making it illegal for an adult to allow underage drinking in their homes.
The law was created as way reduce underage drink and drinking related accidents. State Representative Donald Sherer (R-Stamford) supports the law. He says it is illegal for a parent top give their child alcohol.
Parents who are caught once will receive a $146 fine and second offenders will receive a $500 fine and possible jail time. Sherer says religious ceremonies are not included in this law.
