According to a new survey, many Connecticut drivers could use a refresher course on the rules of the road.
GMAC Insurance's National Drivers Test for 2009 ranked Connecticut drivers as 42nd in the nation in their knowledge of traffic safety regulations.
The drivers were tested on a variety of topics, from how far in advance a motorist should signal for a turn to whether a car's lights should be on when the windshield wipers are running.
Connecticut's neighboring states did even worse on the test. New York drivers finished last, followed by New Jersey motorists. Idaho and Wisconsin shared the top ranking.
