A Danbury Hospital nurse is one of four Connecticut health care workers headed to the Super Bowl on Sunday, thanks to Patriots owner Bob Kraft.
Gov. Ned Lamont announced the news on Twitter Tuesday.
Danbury Hospital nurse Emma Kneisel has been working with the COVID-19 unit for nearly 11 months.
On Sunday, she and 75 other vaccinated health care workers from all over New England will head to Foxboro to board the Patriots' private plane - en route to Tampa Bay.
Kneisel says the trip is a welcome vacation after nearly a year on the front lines.
"I'm just looking forward to getting out of the cold for the day, just kind of a little break is awesome," she said.
The health care workers will fill seats left open by players and executives due to the pandemic.
