Darien holds 12th annual Push-n-Pull Parade
Families celebrated the Fourth of July Monday at a patriotic-themed children's parade in Darien.
The 12th annual "Push-n-Pull" Parade was hosted by Darien Veterans of Foreign War Post 69-33.
Organizers say children decorated their bikes, scooters and wagons in red, white and blue to ride in the parade.
Officials awarded the "best decorated wheels" and "most patriotic dressed family" after the parade.
"I think it's important to get everyone together and just being festive and enjoying a community event like this. We always think that having kids makes having holidays like this so much more fun," says Carolyn Kagen, a parade participant.
The parade traveled down the Post Road to Tilley Pond Park.
