A Darien High School lacrosse coach has resigned following his arrest last week.
Waterbury police took Raul Bourgeois into custody Thursday at the school and charged him with drug possession.
Bourgeois' lawyer says he resigned out of the best interest of the team and the school.
Darien police say at the time of his arrest, no students were at risk.
Bourgeois is expected to plead not guilty.
