Safety improvements may finally be made at Sikorsky Airport.
The U.S. Secretary of Transportation is attempting to broker a deal between Bridgeport and Stratford officials.
Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch says he was in Washington D.C. yesterday for a meeting with Stratford Mayor John Harkins.
The airport's runway was last improved in 1982 and does not meet new Federal Aviation Administration standards.
