(08/09/06) NORWALK ? Political newcomer Ned Lamont is promising change in the wake of his Democratic primary victory over Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT) Tuesday.
Lamont says his firm stance against the war in Iraq struck a chord with voters. According to Lamont, Lieberman is merely an apologist for the Bush administration. The victorious candidate says he wants to concentrate on jobs, healthcare and an end to combat operations in Iraq.
Despite Lamont?s victory, Lieberman is not giving up hope. He has filed paperwork to run as an independent.
