People all over southwestern Connecticut say their allergies are flaring up and doctors say some are making the mistake of going through the season feeling terrible when they don?t have to.
Doctors say a lot of times those with allergies turn to the same remedy they?re used to, even though it's not working this year. Dr. Mitchell Lester, of Fairfield County Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, says there are remedies like steroid nasal sprays and eye drops to prevent or alleviate sinus symptoms.
?My attitude is if you're miserable do something about it, even if you have just a few weeks or a month in the Spring, why be uncomfortable?? Lester says.
Lester says people tend to underestimate how much their allergies impact their quality of life.
