The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education held a domestic assault awareness event at Darien Town Hall today.

The group says domestic abuse is one of the most under-reported crimes in the nation.

"Sexual assault is not only rape," says Ivonne Zucco from The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education. "Sexual assault is also from within the family and the people that really know the victim very well; because that's the way they gain access."

Organizers say one in three girls and one in six boys will be sexually assaulted before age 14.
