Eagles’ player says he won’t go to White House after Super Bowl win
The Philadelphia Eagles, at some point, will visit the White House following their Super Bowl win.
However, New Jersey native and Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins says he won't go.
"I don't have a message for the president,” says Jenkins. “My message has been clear all year. I'm about creating positive change in the communities that I come from. Whether it be Philadelphia, New Jersey, Ohio, Louisiana, or this entire country. I want to see changes in our criminal justice system. I want to see us push for economic and educational advancement in communities of color and low-income communities, and I want to see our relationships between our communities and law enforcement be advanced.”
President Donald Trump released a statement Sunday urging players to stand for the national anthem, and everyone did.
After the game, the president congratulated the Eagles on their historic victory.
