Officials at Yale-New Haven Hospital say the Greenwich boy hurt in a bike accident over the weekend has been upgraded to fair condition.
Eddie Zingoni, 11, was riding his bike with his friends in the Cos Cob section of town when his friends say he went flying over his handlebars and hit his head on a rock.
Police say Zingoni was not wearing a helmet.
Greenwich EMS officials say they responded to the accident after one of Zingoni's friends called 911 from a cellphone.
Zingoni is a student at Central Middle School. Students there say an assembly was held Monday on bike safety in response to the accident.
