With bees mysteriously disappearing all over the world, some southwestern Connecticut beekeepers have taken action to make sure the area doesn?t lose any of its honeybees.
Beekeepers of the Back Yard Beekeeper Association are breeding their own queen bees in Easton. They say queen bees lay anywhere from 800 to 1,200 eggs everyday.
They say it is important to take on this cause because local farms rely on bees for pollination.
Experts are trying to find out what is causing bees to disappear. They are looking at disease, virus, bacteria or chemical interaction as possible causes.
