Elegant show house set to open for tours
Designer Franco Grimaldi is putting the finishing touches on a show house he's been creating in Bridgeport.
Top designers from the Northeast have contributed to create 36 spaces in the show house. The mansion being used is nearly 80 years old and was dubbed "The Chimneys" in a nod to the building's nine chimneys.
Grimaldi says the 1920's Black Rock mansion is the most opulent show house he's created as of yet.
"Of the 21 houses I've done, I've never been this passionate," said Grimaldi. "There's just stuff here that you don't see anywhere in the world."
Tours of the Chimneys are set to begin September 30. Proceeds will be donated to four charities: Dress for Success, Green Demolitions, Music and Arts Center for Humanity and UNESCO.
