A former Staples High School teacher acquitted of having sex with a 17-year-old student says he's overjoyed at putting the ordeal behind him.
"I was just numb," says Peter Eramo. "You go through the worst hell you could possibly go through. I just stood there and couldn't be more thankful."
Peter Eramo says after losing his job at the Westport school he hasn't been able to get full-time work and was forced to move back in with his parents on Long Island.
The prosecutor in the case says the jury appears to have considered all the evidence and she respects its verdict.
