Fairfield community races in name of murder victims
Hundreds of Fairfield community members ran in the name of two murder victims Sunday. The Donnelly Dash race is named after Tim and Kim Donnelly, a couple who were murdered in their jewelry store two years ago. The event was held at the Tomlinson Middle School. Race Director Marty Schaivone heads the running club that Tim Donnelly belonged to. In the race?s third year, Schaivone says he will keep it going to preserve their legacy. Proceeds from the race will benefit a scholarship fund at Fairfield University, as well as a park in Bridgeport, that will be dedicated in their name. Tim?s daughter, Tara Donnelly, says just looking at the huge crowd helps her cope. Donnelly says, ?It's just nice that everyone still cares.?
