A Fairfield neighborhood is fighting back against a housing proposal that residents say is all wrong for the area.
They say the 20-unit complex on Beacon View Drive would lead to unsafe and overcrowded conditions in the area. The proposed complex, which would also contain affordable housing units, would also be twice the size of other homes on the street.
Republican state Sen. Tony Wong said that the development is not consistent with the nature of the community.

“Drive around this neighborhood, walk around this neighborhood,” Wong said. “The idea of this proposal is so outsized, so inconsistent, it is an affront to the eye.”
News 12 reached out to the developer proposing the complex for a comment and has yet to hear back.
The town’s Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a hearing on the plans Tuesday night at McKinley School.
