A Bridgeport bar where two people were fatally shot is being slapped with a $10,000 fine for violating the state's COVID-19 regulations.
The family of 24-year-old Andrew Stephenson says there needs to be accountability when it comes to the shooting at a business the state says should never have been open.
Police were called to Mango'z Sports Bar on Connecticut Avenue on Dec. 20 after reports of gunfire in the area.
Police say when they arrived there were more than 25 people inside. The bar was also open past the state's 10 p.m. curfew.
The family of one of the victim's supports Gov. Ned Lamont's decision to fine Mango'z Sports Bar but say the $10,000 amount of the fine is not high enough.
Marlon Pinnock, a co-owner of the bar, says he closed the business back in March and had nothing to do with the gathering where the double shooting took place. He says it was the property owner who received the fine.
