Dozens of family and friends held a candlelight remembrance ceremony tonight to mourn a man who was shot and killed outside of an apartment complex in Norwalk.
Joseph Bateman, 20,was shot to death along the Norwalk River between Cross St. and Burnell Blvd. on a walkway behind the Avalon Gates Apartments.
Police are currently investigating whether this shooting is connected to a murder that occurred two years ago. A jury had found Amos Brown Jr. not guilty by reason of self defense in the death of Tykwan Hunt at a party back in 2008.
In August of 2010, Brown Jr. was shot to death, the killer never found. Bateman was a good friend of Brown Jr.
Detectives say they are actively pursuing several leads but are still looking for more. If you have any information please call CrimeStoppers at 203-354-INFO.
