Family and friends are remembering football coach Aaron Feis and his heroic actions during the Parkland Florida High School shooting.
Coach Feis threw himself in front of students as gunshots sounded through the halls at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Feis was shot once and died after he was rushed into surgery.
He is among 17 people killed when former student Nikolas Cruz armed with a rifle opened fired on campus.
"I saw him running toward the gunshots as soon as they started to happen," says student Colton Haab. “That's Coach Feis. He wants to make sure everyone is safe before himself."
Coach Feis was an alumni of the high school, graduating back in 1999.
He returned in 2002 as the head coach for junior varsity and was also the college recruiting coordinator.
