The family of a Waterbury man who disappeared 10 years ago is asking the public for help as they try to find out what happened to him.
Billy Smolinksi was 31 years old when he was last seen at his home in August 2004.
In the days before his disappearance, family members say Smolinski found out that his girlfriend, Madeline Gleason, was cheating on him with a local married politician.
The family says after Smolinski went missing, they caught Gleason on video ripping down the missing person posters they had put up.
Smolinski's family says police later got a tip from a friend of Gleason's son, Chad Hanson, who said he helped Gleason's son kill Smolinski.
Police searched the areas Hanson mentioned, but did not come up with a body. Hanson is currently behind bars for falsely reporting an incident.
Smolinski's family members say they believe their son was murdered.
News 12 contacted Waterbury police, but they would not comment on the case.
