A father-son driving lesson turned deadly in Orange Thursday morning.
Police say Jamal Richards was learning how to drive with his father when he swerved into oncoming traffic on Race Brook Road and collided with a dump truck. The 17-year-old Burean Christian Academy student suffered fatal injuries. Jamal?s father was treated and released from a local hospital.
Instructor Frank Jordan, of the Milford Driving School, says parents should leave lessons to professionals. Jordan says licensed instructors are more familiar with safe driving habits and may be able to show students things parents cannot. He says having the ability to drive a car does necessarily make someone a good teacher.
