An autopsy is scheduled this week for the fetus found at a sewage treatment plant in Stamford.
Police say workers at the plant discovered the fetus in a container Saturday.
Investigators say they think it was 5 to 6 months developed before its mother likely miscarried.
Police say they are searching for the mother in hopes of learning more about what happened.
