Firefighters responded to a fire at 1145 University Ave. Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say the fire broke out in an eighth-floor apartment around 12:20 p.m. The fire department says it had the flames under control within 30 minutes.
Witnesses tell News 12 a young woman was in the apartment at the time of the fire, but made it out safely.
No injuries were reported, but one dog was killed in the fire.
