Bridgeport firefighters are being praised for their quick response to a fire that tore through a multi-family home last night.
It happened on State Street around 10:30 p.m.
Officials say it started in the basement and quickly spread up through the walls.
Only one of the three apartments was occupied. One man was inside and he got out as soon as he heard the fire alarm.
