A firefighter was rescued after becoming trapped in a roof collapsed during a single home fire in Woodbury Sunday afternoon.
Fire officials say firefighters responded to the call on Ridgewood Road around 2:30 p.m.
Officials said the roof collapsed while crews were battling the flames and trapped a member.
Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Janet Morgan said the firefighter was rescued within 20 minutes and crews were able to contain the blaze.
"The fire grew tremendously within the structure, and it was a heavy fire load, and they did their best to deal with that fire load, and then when the mayday was called, they were all right there," Morgan said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
