Firefighters battle and contain Stratford brush fire
A brush fire broke out near Stratford'sSikorsky Airport Thursday afternoon, damaging acres of land.
The Stratford and Bridgeport fire departments were able to keep theflames contained in an area of marsh and avoid a much larger disaster.The flames did not damage any nearby buildings or businesses. No onewas hurt.
Firefighters said the flames spread quickly. They set up four pointsaround the fire to stop it from spreading to a nearby Paraco Gas building.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
