Firefighters responded to an apartment building fire in Bridgeport Wednesday, officials say.
The incident happened at the building off Park Avenue Wednesday morning.
Firefighters found smoke and fire coming from an exterior window frame on the third floor.
They were able to quickly put out the fire and contain the fire to the wall of an apartment.
Bridgeport Fire Chief Richard Thode says the fire could have been a lot worse.
"We were concerned it could extend up into the attic, this is an old building; a lot of wood, but they stopped the fire before it could get up there. The damage is relatively minor," Thode says.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
