Fireworks will light up the skies over Tod?s Point Beach in Greenwich Saturday for the first time ever, despite neighbors? concerns over traffic.
Nearby homeowners argue the only way onto the beach is through a narrow access road, which may cause gridlock. However, town leaders are reassuring residents they are working overtime to minimize traffic problems. Extra officers will patrol the area and keep track of how many vehicles are entering the beach. Police say they will close the beach once the 1,500 spaces are filled.
The town is also hosting another fireworks display at Greenwich Point.
