Five state Department of Transportation employees and a state contractor were charged Tuesday with rigging state highway maintenance contracts.
A spokesman for the chief state's attorney would not discuss specific charges but said the case involved a grand jury investigation into bid rigging. Court documents in the matter remain sealed.
The DOT has been the subject of several investigations dating back to problems in the Rowland administration.
