A former athletic club president has been accused of stealing money from an organization in Stamford.
Daria Opolsk, 42, was arrested and charged with first-degree larceny. Police say she misallocated more than $157,000 from the Holy Name Athletic Club between July 2021 and December 2022.
Authorities say the funds were primarily used to make payments on Opolsk’s personal credit cards when she was president of the club.
Police also say that she surrendered herself and has been released on a $100,000 bond.
