Friends and family honored a Bethel man who died from COVID-19 complications Wednesday on what would have been his 33rd birthday.
Jonathan Coelho, of Bethel, worked as a Stamford probation officer and died in April from COVID-19 complications. He was only 32.
He left behind his wife and his two young kids, Braedon and Penelope.
He also left behind a note on his cellphone that went viral and broke hearts across the country.
Although the note speaks so loudly of his love for his family, his wife Katie says he was a quiet guy.
"Jonathan was a quiet person, and I can only imagine how mortified he would be at all the attention he's gotten- but I think if anyone deserves the attention, it's him," his wife says.
Jonathan's supervisor Michael Hull said this is the first time they are able to come together to comfort each other and remember him.
"He was young. His health as far as we knew was good," Hull say.
Hull says Jonathan was one of the few people who arrived early for work every morning even though he had the furthest to commute.
