A Bronx man arrested at a Stamford library is facing charges for allegedly stabbing a man.
Police say Angel Rivera was arrested Tuesday at the Ferguson Library on Broad Street. They say he had stabbed a man in the head in the Bronx on Saturday and was seeking refuge in Stamford.
Stamford Officers Doug Deiso and John Gale say their informant called them Tuesday, saying Rivera was hiding out in the library, and asked him if he knew a place he could stay.
The officers say they passed the information on to plainclothes detectives, who found Rivera on the third floor and took him into custody without incident.
Police say Rivera was in possession of a knife when he was taken into custody, which may have been used in the stabbing.
Rivera appeared before a judge Wednesday. He agreed to be extradited to New York, where he will face attempted murder charges.
