Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim says the city's Public Works Department is following its standard cold-weather protocol to ensure the roads are safe for the winter storm.
Workers say they're monitoring alerts from the National Weather Service and doing their best to prep.
"Now we're fully prepared. The Bridgeport Public Works Department is prepared with sand and salt and will be out on the roads. But even with that, I'd ask people to stay home. If you don't have to go out, don't go out. All the way into Monday morning. We don't know if schools are going to go forward or not on Monday, so stay tuned," said Ganim.
Ganim says he has not yet decided if Monday's swearing-in ceremony for elected city officials should be postponed.
