Reports of people pumping gas without paying are forcing gas station managers to take matters into their own hands. Managers at the Exxon Gas Station on Main Street in Norwalk say they saw an increase of gas theft once the prices jumped above $3 a gallon. Now, they are requiring customers to pre-pay before the pump is turned on. Gas experts say while the pre-pay method is inconvenient for customers, it's safer for retailers.
