Gates to be installed at Stamford railroad crossing

The state says it is stepping in to help make a railroad crossing in Stamford safer.
The governor's office says state funds will cover the majority of the cost to install gates at Metro-North's Riverbend South Crossing.
There have been several accidents involving cars and trains there in recent years.
Work on the project is set to begin in April.
