George Padilla arraigned in Bridgeport shooting
The man arrested for allegedly shooting another man in Bridgeport was arraigned Friday.
When George Padilla, 24, appeared in court for arraignment today he tried to talk, but was told this was not the time.
Padilla was arrested hours after police say victim William Marrero, 29, was left for dead Thursday morning. Police say Padilla shot Marrero several times in the eye, mouth and torso before fleeing the scene.
Investigators also say the two had a previous altercation Wednesday night at a market on nearby Park Avenue.
Marrero's family, who is devastated by the incident, spoke out saying that the victim may not make a full recovery, but they are grateful that he is still alive.
The judge says Padilla's bond is set at $500,000 and is expected to appear in court later this month.
Padilla is facing attempted murder charges and will likely face child endangerment charges. News 12 is told a child lives in the apartment where police recovered the gun and that it wasn't properly stored.
