Greenwich men use push mowers to raise green awareness
Two Greenwich men mowed 4 acres of grass today, on one of the hottest days of the week, with push mowers to raise awareness of a greener way to landscape. The two men from the business Mow Green were trying to illustrate how dangerous air and noise pollution created by regular lawnmowers is. One of the men, Dan Delventhal, spoke to News 12 Connecticut. He hopes to see a day when people mow their lawns with no carbon emissions. He says, "We can reduce air pollution by changing lawn care."According to the mowers, the job took several hours. However, they say that about 4,000 carbon emissions, which is farther than a trip to Florida and back, were saved by using push mowers.
