Greenwich police seek thieves of opportunity
Greenwich police say 23 cars were robbed on two separate occasions this past week, with residents making the job easier for the thieves.
Police say the crooks made off with thousands of dollars worth of belongings, but didn?t have to break into the vehicles. They say the suspects targeted cars that were left unlocked. According to police, iPods, GPS units, cash and cell phones were taken. ?It appears what they're doing is trying to get done quickly and take items that are not secured that can be easily exchanged for cash,? says Lt. Rick Cochran.
Police are advising residents to lock their car doors. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Greenwich Police Department at 203-622-8020.
