Greenwich police warn of black bear sightings
Greenwich police are warning residents to keep watch after two black bears were recently spotted in the area.
It is common to find areas with a lot of trees and shrubs around Greenwich, the type of area bears are looking for.
A bear was found Monday afternoon right outside of Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich. Another bear was seen on Sunday sauntering through a nearby neighborhood less than 2 miles away.
Environmentalists confirm that black bears are not usually seen in the area. Residents say they wish for them to be safely taken away.
Police suggest that people dispose of bird feeders or open trash containers in their yards.
