Healthy Heart: Take care of your heart now, not later
Doctors say taking measures to avoid a heart attack should start early.
Experts say many people wait until they are of a certain age to think about heart disease, but the sooner people know their risk factors, the better.
Heart health apps and devices can tip users off to erratic heartbeats or other health problems, Dr. Steven Kunkes says.
Doctors advise people know their blood pressure numbers, for example -- information you can find at a free screening at Docs Urgent Care during Heart Month. Screenings last 30 minutes and patients leave with a print-out of their own heart disease and stroke risk for the next 10 years.
