Evening storms bring threat of downpours, flash flooding

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into evening, with the primary threat of damaging winds, and possibly one inch of hail.

Evening storms bring threat of downpours, flash flooding
This evening's storms are bringing the threat of flash flooding.
Storms may move through the area until 2 a.m. News 12 meteorologists say these storms will likely feature more torrential downpours that can cause flash flooding.  Some spots could get over 2 inches of rain in a short period of time.
Some storms may have heavy rain, gusty winds and possible hail.
A heat advisory was issued through 8 p.m. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued through 10 p.m.
Friday will be mostly sunny with the chance of a thunderstorm, and temperatures around 86 degrees.
