The engagement director at an independent/assisted living center in Stamford recruited a local high schooler to help brighten the day for senior citizens.
The residents at The Residence at Summer Street have been eating meals in their rooms since the coronavirus outbreak began.
So, Frank Mastrone called on Francisco Garcia to make the meal deliveries a bit more fun. Even though he has never played his guitar in front of people before, he has been strumming away to make meal time less lonesome.
"I just hope they feel better. I honestly wasn't expecting so much of a positive response…When they actually got really excited and happy with me playing, it was nice,” said Garcia.
Garcia says the whole experience has reminded him of how fun it is to play.
