Hostess announces it will shut down, leaving hundreds in CT jobless

Hostess Brands announced today it will be shutting down, leaving 200 workers across the state without jobs, 50 of them in Bridgeport.

Kevin O'Toole, head of Teamsters Local 145, says it's horrible that nearly 50 of his drivers will be without jobs as Thanksgiving approaches.

Hostess told News 12 Connecticut today that the baker's union, which is not located in Connecticut, could have prevented all this by accepting an 8 percent pay cut.

Officials say the outlet store in Bridgeport will reopen tomorrow and stay open until the last product is sold.
