Thousands in southwestern Connecticut are celebrating "Three Kings Day" Friday.
Three Kings Day marks the day when the three gift-baring kings arrived to meet baby Jesus. Students in the Bridgeport School District had the day off, since Hispanics account for more than 80 percent of the population on the city?s eastside.Children sang songs traditional holiday songs in Spanish while firefighters from the Hispanic Firefighter Association dressed up as the three kings, handing out presents.
City and school leaders in Bridgeport say it's important to recognize this religious and cultural event.
