High school students in Hunts Point are hard at work with a unique hands-on science program.
The students are part of the Iridescent Science Studio. It's an after-school science and engineering program for teens and kids.
The students get to spend the afternoon building robots and learning to code. Two of the teens in the program were chosen to be the honored guests at the National Science Fair at the White House and met the president.
The students generally mentor younger kids. But, Friday they were preparing for Emoticon, a science convention where they are going to showcase a computer-controlled mechanized face that they are building from scratch.
