A mother and her adult son were found dead inside their Shelton home Saturday afternoon, investigators say.
Police were called to the residence on Sorghum Road in the Huntington section of the city for a welfare check around 3:30 p.m. That's when they found 59-year-old Michael Kramer and 79-year-old Gale Lupe dead.
Neighbors say they rarely saw the victims outside.

"There was never any movement," says Carol Jakobs. "You never saw anybody on the front or working in the yard or anything."

No one else was inside the home at the time.

Animal Control arrived at the home today to remove the victims' cats. Police say they had at least 10.

The incident is being investigated by Shelton police, the State Police Major Crimes Division and the state's attorney's office.

Police say there is no threat to the public.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
